Hungary has a temperate climate, and the country can generally be divided into three climactic regions – Mediterranean in the South, Continental in the East and Atlantic in the West. Generally speaking, spring and autumn are mild, winters are very cold with January average temperatures around -2C, and summers can get very warm and dry with average temperatures in July being around 28C.
